Lisa Vermeer is the Digital Policy Advisor of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), an international not-for-profit organization that promotes an enabling legal environment for civil society, freedom of association, assembly, expression and public participation around the world. Lisa is developing and implementing ICNL’s digital program, currently focusing on disinformation, data protection and empowering civil society groups to navigate the impact of digital technologies. Before joining ICNL, Lisa has advocated for human rights online on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and acted as the Freedom Online Coalition point of contact. Lisa has extensive experience as policy advisor and project manager on international and European digital legal, policy, tech and security issues. Lisa holds a Masters degree in European Politics and External Relations (Political Science) from the University of Amsterdam.
